Residential Property Tax
Residential property assessments will be conducted bi-annually to keep up to date on the current market value. We will show continued support for the NYS STAR home owner’s exemption program and we propose the extension of qualifying home owners to be set between houses assessed at 20,000-80,000$. In addition we will research and implement the feasibility of lowering property tax by offsetting the input to the local budget through a slight adjustment to the local utility tax. The proposed lowering of property tax would be in an effort to support local landlords in offering lower rental cost and higher maintenance for tenants.
In addition, we will research methods for supporting Cornell University (State Program) in contributing financial assistance to our developing school district and residential community (more details to come).
